There was this vacant shop near the chemists… and it had clothes and shoes and anything like that for the old people. And I recall one instance where two people were in there and the kids were outside the shop, us kids, and they were arguing over this eiderdown which today is what they call a doona. Anyow they were pulling and tugging it and one woman got away with it and ran to the front door and the other one chased it and grabbed the other end of the eiderdown and they were tugging away with it and there was a strong nor’easter blowing and it tore in half, all the kapok flew down The Corso and covered all the people.
